A sympathetic, sustainable extension and refurbishment of an existing heritage protected H.D. Annear designed house.
An innovative design in which the existing soffit continues from the street end of the building, stretching around the house, from soffit to shelter for the veranda and barbeque, providing an integrated outdoor light source and window shading, until finally wrapping upwards and morphing to form the walls and roof of the first floor extension itself.
All new elements are sunken into the ground, reducing the impact upon the existing.
The design integrates the old and the new, while maintaining its own distinct design language.
